Most women struggle with saying “no!” to other people, especially males. When a woman is anxious to be liked, to be wanted, to be considered good enough – she will have a difficult time saying “no!” due to the belief that denying others will result in rejection and being called “a bitch.”

The problem is that establishing and maintaining clear boundaries in interpersonal relationships, with your children, and often in business or social settings as well is mandatory. After all, being “a bitch” means that you are a Broad In Total Control of Herself! Understanding when and how to say “no!” to other people is an important component in achieving respect and getting the love you deserve. If you ever expect others to treat you well, you must learn how to say “no!” to them without a bunch of explanation and justification. No! is a complete sentence!

Focusing on being liked and gaining the approval of other people more than you do honoring yourself and setting limits is bound to cause problems. If you are frequently unable to say “no!” the price you’ll pay is low self esteem, constantly feeling overwhelmed, being taken for granted and a resultant loss of respect. When you lay down like a carpet, you’ll always get walked on.
